Our Gunbag Liners

Our exquisite gunbags are lined with luxuriously thick Genuine South African Karoo Marino Sheep Skin which has an average of 500,000 fibers per decimeter (about 3.9 inches) and contains 19% lanolin, and is considered to be the finest wool in the world.  This very special sheepskin comes only from the Great Karoo, one of the world’s most unique arid regions. In South Africa the little Khoi and San people exist in this harsh plateau, the largest of its kind outside of Asia.  These ancient people left their legacy as art on the rocks, and gave the Karoo region its name, which comes from ‘Karusa,’ a Khoi word which means aptly, ‘thirstland.’

This exotic Sheepskin was specially hand-selected due to its unique ability to afford extraordinary protection against moisture by excreting natural lanolin through the wool’s fiber.  Simply rubbing your hands across the plush lining reveals the shiny protective lanolin sheen.  This lanolin is the world’s finest all natural rust-inhibiting and water-proofing wax…nothing but the finest, for protecting your sporting firearm in any climate!
